Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team lost a heart-breaker on Tuesday evening in Bolivar, falling to Lindenwood 3-2.
After dropping the first two sets 25-15 and 25-19, the Bearcats rallied to take the next two sets 26-24 and 25-18 before eventually falling in the final set 16-14. After losing the first two sets, the Bearcats came out ready to battle in set three, and then were dominant in set four. The final set went back and forth before Lindenwood came away with the victory.
Mackynzi Gibson led the way for SBU with a double double on the evening with 13 kills and 19 digs.
Jenna Isaacs also gave SBU double digit kills with 10, while
Kaitlyn Allison led SBU in digs with 24 followed by Briana Goforth with 11. The setting duties were split between
Whitney Miller and
Kelsey Fankhauser who had 28 assists and 15 assists respectively.
The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, September 21 when they travel to Southern Nazarene for a match-up with the Storm. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. from Bethany, Oklahoma.
