Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team hung tough with Truman State on Saturday evening, but ultimately dropped the contest 3-0. The Bearcats had leads in both the first and second sets, but Truman State would go on to win 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.
The Bearcats continue to spread out their offense with
Mackynzi Gibson leading SBU in kills with 9, followed by
Jordan Nedbalek with 7 and
Carrie Johnson with 6. The duo of
Whitney Miller and
Kelsey Fankhauser had 25 assists while
Kaitlyn Allison led SBU in digs with 22. As a team, SBU collected 11.0 blocks.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Tuesday, September 18 when they host Lindenwood. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
