Fayette, Iowa - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team opened up their 2012 season at Upper Iowa on Friday night, dropping the contest 2-1.
The Bearcats fell behind early in the first half but the Bearcats were able to tie up the game at 1-1. At the 35:32 mark in the second half
Amanda White was able to knock in a goal from
Ashley Creason to put SBU back in the game. However, Upper Iowa responded 10 minutes later to take a 2-1 lead and eventually go on to win the game.
The Bearcats had 9 shots, with 5 on goal while goalkeeper
Megan Link had 6 saves for the Bearcats. White led the offensive attack with the only Bearcat goal off of 3 shots.
SBU will be back in action on Saturday, September 1 when they take on Concordia University. The game is set to begin at 2:30 pm from Fayette, Iowa.
