Jefferson City, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team concluded their regular season play on Saturday against Lincoln, dropping the first game 8-0 and the second game 4-1.
After losing game one 8-0, the Blue Tigers got out to an early 4-0 lead before the Bearcats were able to get on the scoreboard. In the top of the fifth inning
Alex Abernathy drew a one out walk and was sacrificed to second by
Alandria Jensen.
Hailey Turner then singled to center field to pull SBU within three at 4-1. The comeback wasn't enough as the Bearcats dropped game two 4-1.
SBU finishes the 2012 season 16-30 (6-14 MIAA), tying for the most conference wins of any SBU softball team since 1989.
