Kansas City, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team opened up the 2012 MIAA Conference Tournament with a 5-2 victory over Washburn University. With the victory, the Bearcats are now set to play in the championship match against #26 Northwest Missouri on Sunday.
The Bearcats took two of the three doubles matches to start out, and then claimed three of the four completed singles matches to come away with a 5-2 victory. The Bearcats had singles victories from
Jorge Margiotta,
Kristof Kinal, and
Daniel Cardona and doubles victories from the teams of Margiotta/
Domingos Carissimo and Kinal/Cardona.
The Bearcats will battle #24 Northwest Missouri on Sunday, April 22 for the 2012 MIAA Men's Tennis Championship. The match is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
