Tyler Christophel broke the SBU single season runs scored record on Sunday afternoon at Northwest Missouri, crossing the plate three times to now hold the new record at 52 runs scored.
Mike Nielebeck threw a complete game four-hit victory on Sunday afternoon at Northwest Missouri, helping the Bearcats take a 6-1 game three victory. The Bearcats dropped game four 10-1.
Game one remained scoreless through the first two innings before the Bearcats broke the tie in the bottom of the third.
Landon Young led off the inning with a single to center field, followed by an error by Northwest Missouri putting
Tyler Christophel on base.
Spencer Blacksher then hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Young, and giving SBU a 1-0 lead. Christophel then came home on a fielder's choice by
Bo Helsel, putting SBU up 2-0. The final bearcat run came off of a
Jacob Estes walk with the bases loaded to give SBU a 3-0 lead. Northwest Missouri got one run back in the top of the fourth before SBU responded in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own. The Bearcats were able to plate Christophel a second time off of erros from Northwest Missouri, putting SBU back up three runs at 4-1. SBU would add two more runs in the bottom of the sixth off of Northwest Missouri errors, and SBU went on to a 6-1 game one victory. The Bearcats dropped game four 10-1 while committing five errors.

Chris Martin stated. "He has worked really hard and has had a great season. I want our team to finish strong the last three weeks."
SBU will return to action on Friday, April 20 when they are set to host Fort Hays in a double-header. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m. from Dodson Field in Bolivar.
