Bolivar, Mo. -
Jessica Colliver threw another excellent complete game for the Bearcats on Friday afternoon, but SBU dropped game one 1-0 and lost game 6-3.
Colliver threw 7.0 innings allowing only five hits while striking out four Gorillas. The Bearcats were never able to get the offense going to support Colliver's excellent outing, as the Bearcats dropped game one 1-0. In game two the Gorillas took a 3-0 into the bottom of the fifth before the Bearcats were able to put runs on the scoreboard.
Hailey Turner led of the inning with a single to center field, followed by a nice double to left field by
BreAnn Proctor. Sacrifice fly's from
Kassy Williamson and
Taylor Atwood pulled SBU within one at 3-2, but Pittsburg State extended its lead to 6-2 going into the bottom of the seventh. In the last play of the game
Kassy Williamson smashed a double to center field, bringing home Proctor, but was thrown out trying to advance to third. The comeback fell short as Pittsburg State took game two 6-3.
The Bearcats will end their 2012 home season tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, when they host Missouri Southern State. First pitch for senior day is set for 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field.
