Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team had a tough match-up against #12 Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, dropping the first game 2-9 and the second game 0-11. The Bearcats continually fought hard, putting runners in scoring position throughout both games.
In game one Central Oklahoma jumped out early taking a 6-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth. The Bearcats started to fight back.
After an
Alexa Harvey single,
Rhiannon Mendez walk, and a
BreAnn Proctor single, the Bearcats had the bases loaded for
Kassy Williamson. Williamson singled up the middle, bringing home Harvey and Mendez to cut the lead to 6-2. The Bearcats would continue to put runners in scoring position, but were unable to bring them home as they lost the first game 9-2. Central Oklahoma would also claim the second game 11-0.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Tuesday, March 27 when they travel to Ottawa University. First pitch of the double-header is set for 3:00 p.m.
