Harvey, Colliver, Lamle Homer for SBU in 5-3 Victory Over Northeastern State

Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Bearcats blasted three homeruns in game one against Northeastern State, propelling them to a 5-3 victory on Friday afternoon. The Bearcats dropped the second game of the day 15-0 in five innings.

Jessica Colliver provided another solid outing for the Bearcats, pitching her 11th complete game of the season on Friday. The Bearcats were the first to strike in bottom of the second inning. After a single by Taylor Atwood and a walk taken by Rhiannon Mendez, Alexa Harvey hit a three-run homerun to left field to put SBU up 3-0. Northeastern State got one run back in the top of the third, but the Bearcats responded in the bottom of the fourth. Leading off the inning Colliver hit a solo homerun to centerfield, followed two batters later by a Autumn Lamle solo homerun to left-center. The Bearcats would go to claim game one 5-3. However, Northeastern State won game two 15-0.

The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, March 24 when they host #12 Central Oklahoma. First pitch of the double-header is set for 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
