Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team hits the road for the first time this season when they travel to Topeka, Kansas for four games against Washburn. The first double-header is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, followed by a double-header beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

SBU Rankings in the MIAA

The Bearcats provide a strong offense to help propel them to 2nd place in the MIAA. As a team, SBU ranks 2nd in batting average (.333), 4th in slugging percentage (.472), 3rd in on base percentage (.405), 4th in runs scored (129), and 3rd in hits (186).

Tyler Christophel and Drew Miller are ranked in the top 10 in several offense categories for the Bearcats. Christophel ranks 2nd in batting average (.470), 5th in slugging percentage (.712), 2nd in on base percentage (.532), 1st in runs scored (33), 2nd in hits (31), 3rd in triples (2), 7th in homeruns (4), 4th in total bases (47), and 1st in stolen bases (22).

Miller ranks 3rd in batting average (.444), 8th in slugging percentage (.704), 1st in on base percentage (.537), 8th in runs scored (17), 8th in hits (24), 1st in runs batted in (25), 3rd in doubles (8), and 9th in total bases (38).

Cody Crutcher leads the MIAA in triples (4) while Landon Young in 2nd in the same category (3). Spencer Blacksher ranks 11th in batting average (.396), and Brendon Cox ranks 14th (.380).

From the mound Mike Nielebeck ranks 5th in the MIAA in strikeouts (24), and leads the MIAA in games started (6).

In the field Landon Young and Jacob Estes are tied for 4th with 10 fielding double plays. Drew Miller leads the MIAA in runners caught stealing (8), and Ross Wolfe is 4th in the MIAA in assists (55).

The Bearcats currently rank 13th in the nation in team batting average (.333), 19th in the nation in slugging percentage (.472), and 2nd in the nation in triples (15).

Tyler Christophel ranks 10th in the nation in batting average (.470), 7th in runs scored (33), and 4th in stolen bases (21).

Cody Crutcher ranks 4th in the nation in triples (4), while Landon Young ranks 14th (3).
