Jessica Colliver, helped the Bearcats pick up their first MIAA victory of the season with a complete game shut-out victory over Fort Hays on Saturday afternoon. Colliver was dominate throughout the entire game, allowing only one hit in the final five innings of her second complete game shut-out of the season. Both teams would remain scoreless through the first five innings of play before SBU broke the tie in the top of the sixth inning.
Jennifer Martinez led off the inning with a single, followed by a

Alandria Jensen laid down an RBI sacrifice bunt to put SBU up 1-0. The Bearcats then added another run off of a Fort Hays error, giving SBU a 2-0 lead. The lead was more than enough for Colliver as she finished off the Lady Tigers to help SBU pick up their first MIAA victory of the season.

Jessica Colliver threw a great game," head coach Tammy Ikerd stated. "It was a great win for our program."
In game two the Bearcats were the first to strike, scoring a run off of an RBI groundout by
Taylor Atwood to take a 1-0 lead. Fort Hays would score four in the third and two in the fifth to go on to a 6-1 victory.
The Bearcats quickly return to action on Tuesday, March 20 when they play host to Arkansas Tech. First pitch of the double-header is set for 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
