The Bearcats bats were on fire again, as they jumped all over the Blue Tigers early in game one, going up 4-0 after the first inning. After

Drew Miller blasted a ground-rule double down the left field line to put SBU up 1-0. The Bearcats then score on a error and a wild pitch, going up 3-0, before
Ross Wolfe singled to centerfield bringing home
Kyle Jochems to give SBU a 4-0 lead. Lincoln would get one back in the top of the second, but the Bearcats quickly recovered that run in the bottom of the third when Miller scored off of a double play. The Bearcats added another run in the fifth when
Spencer Blacksher tripled, once again scoring Miller. Lincoln responded with two in the sixth, but SBU added two of their own in the bottom half of the inning. With runners on second and third,
Tyler Christophel hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Wolfe, followed by an rbi double by

With runners on second and third Blacksher singled through the left side, bringing home both runners, and tying the game up a 2-2. Later in the inning Wolfe also singled to the left side scoring Blacksher and giving SBU a 3-2 lead. The Bearcats added two more in the second and another in the third off of rbi singles from
Landon Young and
Cody Crutcher to put SBU up 6-3. Lincoln added two more in the fourth, but
Drew Miller blasted a homerun in the bottom half of the inning to increase the Bearcats lead to 7-5. However the Blue Tigers continued to battle, getting another run in the sixth to pull within one.
