The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
Michael Smith is in his fourth year of building the Truman women's basketball team into a contender in the MIAA. Smith's club over the past three seasons have improved each year in overall wins, conference wins and conference road wins culminating last season in their first trip to the MIAA postseason tournament.
The Bearcats lead the all-time series against the Bulldogs 29-16.
SBU in the MIAA
LaKendra Smith currently leads the MIAA in defensive rebounds, averaging 6.8 boards per game, and is 3rd in the MIAA in total rebounds per game (8.6). Smith also ranks 6th in field goal percentage (47.7%).
Chasity Prince is the leading three point percentage shooter in the conference at 56.1%, and has only missed one free throw on the season (28-29).
Brittney Dukes ranks 8th in points per game (13.9) in the MIAA.
Scouting the Bulldogs
The Truman State Bulldogs come into the game against the SBU Bearcats with a 11-8 overall record, and 6-8 in conference play.
The Bulldogs offense is averaging 69.5 points per game, while their defense is allowing 60.1 points per game.
Becka McHenry is the leading scorer for TSU, averaging 13.1 points per game. Jennifer Conway averages 12.3 points per game, while Breanna Daniels is the Bulldogs leading rebounder, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, along with 10.6 points per game.
