SBU Men's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season Schedule at Missouri Western

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his eighth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 157-81 (.660) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Missouri Western head men's basketball coach Tom Smith begins his 24th season at Missouri Western and his 37th season as a collegiate head coach in 2011-12. Smith boasts a career collegiate coaching record of 599-429.

Missouri Western leads the all-time series against SBU 46-28.

SBU Record Watch
SBU Head Coach Jeff Guiot has become the winningest coach in SBU history with his victory over Washburn University on January 3. Coach Guiot has collected 157 wins over his eight seasons as head coach.

SBU guard Ryan Dougherty has scored 1,292 points in his career as a Bearcat, and currently ranks 7th all-time on the SBU scoring list. Dougherty set the all-time SBU record for three-point baskets made, with his current record standing at 213, and has also recorded the most minutes played in SBU history with 3,071 minutes. Dougherty also currently ranks 7th in assists (313) and is 5th in steals (134) in the SBU record books.

Scouting the Griffons
Missouri Western comes into the game against the Bearcats with a 8-17 record and 3-16 in the MIAA. The Griffons are coming off of a 74-68 loss against Central Missouri.

On the season, MWSU's scoring offense averages 65.1 points per game and their defense allows 67.9 points per game.

Lavonte Douglas is the leading Griffon scorer this season, averaging 13.1 points per game and a team high 8.0 rebounds per game. James Harris averages 12.0 points per game, while TJ Johnson averages 12.4 points per game.
