Topeka, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team lost to the #9 Lady Blues of Washburn University on Saturday afternoon, 49-75.
The Bearcats had a tough time getting their offense going in the first half against the #9 Lady Blues, falling behind early, and going into halftime down 34-16. The Lady Blues would go on to a 75-49 victory, despite a solid 15 points by
Tanis Spani off of 6 of 11 shooting from the field.
Jacqui Zelenka also added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
As a team the Bearcats shot 34.5% from the field, 43.8% from beyond the arc, and were a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line.
The Bearcats will return home on Monday, February 13 when they host Tabor College in a "Think Pink" game where all ticket proceeds are being donated to the Play 4 Kay Foundation. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
