Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats return home to face Central Oklahoma for their home MIAA opener on Saturday. The Bearcats are coming off of a 70-91 loss at #2 Washburn.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his ninth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles and compiled a 159-88 (.644) record. Coach Guiot is the winningest coach in SBU history, has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and has three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Terry Evans is 208-90 in 10 years at UCO and has directed the Bronchos to seven national tournament appearances, including one Elite Eight and one Sweet 16. He also led the team to six Lone Star Conference North Division titles and two overall league crowns during Central's association with that league.
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Central Oklahoma
4-3. The Bronchos won last year's meeting 77-66 at SBU.
Scouting the Bearcats
After a 70-91 loss at #2 Washburn, the Bearcats now sit at 2-6 (0-1 MIAA) on the season. SBU is led in scoring by
Preston Guiot who averages 11.6 ppg and 4.8 apg, while
Jaywuan Hill (9.0),

Scouting the Bronchos
Central Oklahoma comes into the match-up with the Bearcats 1-6 (0-1 MIAA) after losing to Pittsburg State 70-81 in their MIAA opener. The Bronchos are led in scoring by Spencer Smith who averages 13.4 ppg and 5.6 rpg. Jamell Cormier is averaging 11.1 ppg, while Josh Davis averages 9.9 ppg and a team high 6.0 rpg.
