Topeka, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team played their second straight top 10 opponent on Thursday, falling to #2 Washburn 91-70.
The Bearcats were able to stay with the Ichabods during the first half, trailing 40-34 going into halftime, but Washburn was able to extend their lead throughout the second half to go on to a 91-70 victory.
The Bearcats had three players score in double figures, and were led by
Preston Guiot with 13 points and 8 assists.
Kyle Sloan gave SBU 12 points, while
Damion Hooks added 11. As a team, the Bearcats shot 49.1% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc, and 66.7% from the free throw line.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, December 8 when they host Central Oklahoma for their first home MIAA game. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
