Riverside, Calif. - The Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team hung tough with California Baptist throughout the first half of Tuesday's contest, but ultimately fell 58-80 to close out the tournament in California.

The Bearcats played a strong first half, hanging with Lancers, but went into halftime down 33-30. California Baptist slowly extended their lead throughout the second half as SBU dropped the final game of the tournament 58-80.

SBU had a solid performance from freshman Brook Duncan who recorded career highs in points and rebounds, as she recorded her first double-double of her career with 21 points and 11 boards. Brittney Dukes also shot well from the floor, giving SBU 15 points, while Jacqui Zelenka pulled down another 10 rebounds in the loss. As a team SBU shot 35.0% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc.

The Bearcats will take a short break from play before returning to action on Saturday, December 29th when they play host to Missouri Baptist. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
