Edmond, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University football team claimed their second victory on the season with a 26-14 victory over Central Oklahoma. The Bearcat defense had two interceptions and one fumble recovery while the offense threw for over 250 yards and rushed for more than 100 yards in the contest.

The Bearcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead when John Colliver hit a 48 yard field goal with 8:39 left in the first quarter to give SBU its first lead. The Bearcats would extend that lead in the second quarter when Dan Connors hit Nyran Ross with a 16 yard touchdown pass to put SBU up 10-0. The Bronchos would add a long touchdown before the end of the half, cutting SBU's lead to 10-7 at halftime.

Central Oklahoma would come out of halftime and take their first lead of the ballgame halfway through the third quarter before the Bearcats would take control of the game in the fourth quarter. Down 14-13, Colliver hit his second field goal of the day, this one from 22 yards out. Then with 7:18 left in the game, Via Via Manuma broke a 74 yard touchdown run to regain the lead at 19-14. The Bearcats would seal the victory when Colliver hit Brad Sundstrom for a 9 yard touchdown on fourth and seven to put SBU up 26-14.

Dan Connors played an efficient game from the quarterback position, going 35-49 for 262 yards and a score. Colliver had the one touchdown pass while also hitting field goals from 48 and 22. Derwyn Lauderdale continues to rack up the receptions, catching 10 balls for 58 yards, while Via Via Manuma picked up 94 rushing yards on 7 carries. Defensively, Jameson Manuma had 14 tackles while Shaquille Shedd had 10 tackles and a fumble recovery. Chris Muhammad and Austin Otwell both had interceptions for the Bearcats to help stop Central Oklahoma drives.

The Bearcats will conclude their 2012 season when they face Lincoln on Saturday, November 10. Senior Day kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. from Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.
