The Bearcats led for all but 24 seconds in the victory over Harris-Stowe, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead off of a Jacqui Zelenka layup. The Bearcats quickly built a double digit lead when Ashlee Pitts drained a 3 pointer at the 12:04 mark in the first half to put SBU up 16-5. SBU continued to build their lead, taking a 42-19 halftime advantage. Coming out into the second half the Bearcats continued to build their lead, leading by as many as 42, before claiming the 85-45 victory.

Jacqui Zelenka had a career night for the Bearcats, recording her first double-double of her career. Zelenka tied her career high in points, with 20, while she set a new career high in rebounds with 13. Brook Duncan also had a career high in points with 18, while hitting four three's in the win. Brittney Dukes and Ashlee Pitts both gave SBU double digit scoring efforts with Dukes having 11 points and Pitts 10.

As a team the Bearcats shot 46.5% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc, and 56.3% from the free throw line. The Bearcats had a season high 53 rebounds, and out-rebounded the Hornets 53-34. The Bearcats also handled the ball extremely well, dishing out 29 assists, tying an SBU team game record, while only committing 6 turnovers.

"I was really proud of our team tonight," head coach Todd Voss stated after the game. "We put together a 40-minute game and were very consistent. Jacqui had a great game tonight. I thought her effort was very complete. She was not only good on the offensive end, but she also rebounded the ball well and ran the floor well. She had four assists to go along with her 20 points and 13 rebounds, with no turnovers. She did an outstanding job, and we think she can be a special player for us. As a team we are finding the open player and are playing unselfishly. That is Bearcat basketball, and that is how we want to play."

SBU will be back in action on December 1 when they host the University of Illinois-Springfield. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
