Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team picked up their second victory of the season with a 2-1 victory over Central Baptist Tuesday afternoon in Bolivar.
Central Baptist jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the early first half, taking a 1-0 lead going into halftime. In the second half the Bearcat offense starting clicking. After a penalty on Central Baptist, Karl DuPont and
Colton Harden lined up to take the free kick.
Colton Harden took the free kick, angling to the top right corner of the next, and placed it over the goalie's head to tie the game up at 1-1. In the final 10 minutes of the game,
Scott Zingerman won the inbound pass from a CBC defender, and beat the goalie one-on-one to put SBU up 2-1 late in the game. The Bearcats would run out the remainder of the clock to seal the 2-1 victory.
The Bearcats will return to MIAA action on Thursday, October 11 when they host Harding University. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field.
