Joplin, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team played a tough battle against Missouri Southern in Joplin on Sunday afternoon, tying the Lions 1-1.
The Lions took an early lead in first half and the Bearcats went into halftime down 1-0. The Bearcats came out of the locker room ready to play when
Ashley Creason knocked in a goal from
Brittani Ready at the 61:05 to tie the game up at 1-1. Neither team were able to score for the remainder of the game as the Bearcats and Lions tied 1-1.
Megan Link had a solid game in goal, playing all 110 minutes collecting 8 saves in the tie.
The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, October 11 when they host Northeastern State. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
