Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer offense was clicking on Thursday afternoon in Bolivar as the Bearcats shut out Lindenwood 4-0. With the victory, the Bearcats move to 7-8-2 (4-5-2 MIAA) on the season and now sit in a tie for 7th place in the MIAA standings.

The Bearcat defense played an excellent game, allowing only 2 shots in the first half, and 6 for the duration of the game. However the defense got plenty of help from the SBU offensive attack. At the 13:47 mark in the first half Amanda White netted a goal in the bottom right corner of the net, knocking in a rebounded shot by Ashley Creason, to put the Bearcats up 1-0.

SBU continued to push in the first half as the Bearcats scored a second goal only three minutes later into the game. On a two on one break away attack, Karla Jamison and Kate Jamison passed the ball back and forth until Karla placed the ball in the middle of the box where Kate knocked in her third goal of the season. The Bearcats were able to add one more goal with 6 seconds left in the first half when Ali Skogrand headed in a shot off of a rebound off of the goalie to put SBU up 3-0 going into halftime.

The Bearcats continued to dominate the game throughout the second half and added a fourth goal in the 76th minute of play. Camala James came up from her defensive position to feed Creason in the middle of the field at the edge of the box where Creason guided the ball into the bottom right corner to put SBU up 4-0. The Bearcats continued to shut down the Lions and take the 4-0 victory.

Goalkeeper Megan Link continues to play well in goal, recording her 6th shutout of the season. Link collected 4 saves in the victory.

The Bearcats will conclude their regular season play on Saturday, October 27th when they host Truman State. Senior Day is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
