Joplin, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team picked up their first conference victory of the season with a 3-1 victory over Missouri Southern on Tuesday night. The Bearcats took the first two sets 25-22 and 25-13 before losing the third set 19-25 to come back and take set four 25-20.
The Bearcats had an even offensive attack against Missouri Southern on Tuesday.
Jenna Isaacs led the attack with 11 kills followed closely by
Carrie Johnson with 10 kills.
Mackynzi Gibson also added 8 kills in the victory.
Hannah Blount was impressive from the libero spot, collecting 21 digs while Gibson also added 7 digs.
Whitney Miller and
Kelsey Fankhauser once again split the setting duties with Miller collecting 18 assists and Fankhauser 10.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Friday, October 5 when they host the 2012 Crossover Tournament. The Bearcats are set to play at 11:30 a.m. against Henderson State at the Meyer Sports Center.
