The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
Lane Lord enters his fourth season as head women's basketball coach at Pittsburg State University. Lord's team struggled a bit in his third season, finishing with a 14-14 overall record.
The Gorillas lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 27-24.
SBU in the MIAA
LaKendra Smith currently leads the MIAA in defensive rebounds, averaging 6.7 boards per game, and is 3rd in the MIAA in total rebounds per game (8.7). Smith also ranks 7th in field goal percentage (48.1%).
Chasity Prince is the leading three point percentage shooter in the conference at 56.1%, and has only missed one free throw on the season (28-29).
Brittney Dukes ranks 8th in points per game (14.0) in the MIAA.
Scouting the Gorillas
The Pittsburg State Gorillas come into the game against the SBU Bearcats with a 18-2 overall record, and 12-1 in conference play.
The Gorillas offense is averaging 74.6 points per game, while their defense is allowing 62.8 points per game.
