Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Bearcats ran into a tough match-up against #20 Washburn University on Tuesday night in Bolivar, dropping the contest 45-82.

The Bearcats fought hard from the beginning of the game, taking an early 11-10 lead on the Lady Blues. However, Washburn was too much to handle, they went on to a 82-45 victory.

Brittney Dukes and LaKendra Smith both finished in double figures for the Bearcats, with Dukes scoring a team high 11 and Smith 10. Chasity Prince added 8 and Jacqui Zelenka gave SBU 7 in the loss. As a team the Bearcats shot 30.8% from the field, 22.2% from beyond the arc, and 75.0% from the free throw line.

The Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday, January 7 when they travel to Hays, Kansas to take on Fort Hays State. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
