SBU Women Look for Season Sweep when they Host Missouri Southern on Saturday

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

Maryann Mitts enters her eleventh season as head women's basketball coach at Missouri Southern State University. After 10 straight winning seasons, Maryann Mitts is the winningest coach in Missouri Southern history.

The Lions lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 38-19.

SBU in the MIAA
LaKendra Smith currently leads the MIAA in defensive rebounds, averaging 6.7 boards per game, and is 3rd in the MIAA in total rebounds per game (8.6). Smith also ranks 7th in field goal percentage (49.0%). Chasity Prince is the leading three point percentage shooter in the conference at 56.1%, and has only missed one free throw on the season (28-29). Brittney Dukes ranks 8th in points per game (14.0) in the MIAA.

Scouting the Lions
The Missouri Southern Lions come into the game against the SBU Bearcats with a 2-12 overall record, and 2-10 in conference play.

The Lions offense is averaging 61.8 points per game, while their defense is allowing 66.6 points per game.

Erin Rice is the leading scorer and rebounder for LU, averaging 14.9 points per game and grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game. Tatianna Washington is the only other Lion scoring in double figures, averaging 10.6 points per game.
