SBU Men Return Home to Host #14 Missouri Southern on Saturday

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his eighth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 151-80 (.654) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Entering his 23rd season as head coach at Missouri Southern, Robert Corn has guided the Lions to 18 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Postseason Tournament berths, 13 in a row, and three trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The Lions lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 45-40.

SBU Head Coach Jeff Guiot has become the winningest coach in SBU history with his victory over Washburn University on January 3. Coach Guiot has collected 151 wins
over his eight seasons as head coach.

SBU guard Ryan Dougherty has scored 1,142 points in his career as a Bearcat, and currently ranks 10th all-time on the SBU scoring list. Dougherty set the all-time SBU record for three-point baskets made, with his current record standing at 198. Dougherty also currently ranks 7th in assists (274) and is tied for 6th in steals (123) in the SBU record books.

Scouting the Lions
Missouri Southern comes into the game against the Bearcats with a 16-4 record and 8-4 in the MIAA. The Lions are coming off of a 68-81 loss against Central Missouri.
On the season, MSSU's scoring offense averages 83.2 points per game and their defense allows 71.6 points per game.

Keane Thomann is the leading scorer and rebounder this season for the Lions, averaging 21.5 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. Jason Adams averages 18.9 points per game, while Marquis Addison averages 10.5 points per game.
