SBU Women's Basketball Opens up the Second Half of MIAA Play Hosting Central Missouri

- The Bearcats are coming off of a thrilling 100-99 overtime victory over Missouri Southern and now face the Jennies of Central Missouri on Saturday. The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

Dave Slifer enters his eighth season at the helm of the Jennies, compiling a 125-82 record at UCM. He is the sixth-winningest active coach in NCAA Division II women's basketball with a 508-181 (.737) overall record.

Central Missouri leads the all-time series against SBU 46-11.

SBU in the MIAA
LaKendra Smith currently leads the MIAA in defensive rebounds, averaging 6.7 boards per game, and is 3rd in the MIAA in total rebounds per game (8.2) Chasity Prince is the leading three point percentage shooter in the conference at 56.1%, and has only missed one free throw on the season (28-29). Brittney Dukes ranks 6th in points per game (14.5) and field goal percentage (44.9%).

Scouting the Jennies
The Central Missouri Jennies come into the game against the SBU Bearcats with a 12-4 overall record, and 6-4 in conference play. The Jennies offense is averaging 72.8 points per game, while their defense is allowing 62.1 points per game.

Shaquanda Wiggins is the leading scorer and rebounder for UCM, averaging 16.4 points per game and grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game. Nicole Caddell is the next highest scorer for the Griffons with 15.9 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, while Taylor Hanson averages 11.8 points per game.
