Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats open up the new year hosting the Ichabods of Washburn University on Tuesday, January 3 with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his eighth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 146-78 (.652) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Bob Chipman, one of college basketball's winningest coaches, begins his 33rd season at the helm of the Ichabod basketball program. Chipman enters the season with a 696-288 (.709) overall and he has 455 wins since the Ichabods joined the MIAA - the most of any teams in the league since the 1991-92 season.
The Ichabods lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 30-15.

SBU Head Coach Jeff Guiot currently has 146 wins in his career at SBU, and is 1 win away from the becoming the winningest coach in SBU history.

Ryan Dougherty has scored 1,037 points in his career as a Bearcat, and currently ranks 10th all-time on the SBU scoring list. Dougherty is currently 3rd all time for three-point baskets made with 174, and is 16 three-pointers away from a new SBU school record.
Scouting the Ichabods
Washburn comes into the game against the Bearcats with an 9-3 record, and 4-1 in MIAA conference play. The Ichabods are coming off of a 75-67 victory over Central Missouri State.
On the season, WU's scoring offense, averages 72.8 points per game and their defense allows 62.3 points per game.
Will McNeill is the leading scorer for the Ichabods, averaging 19.5 points per game. Martin Mitchell is the other Ichabod averaging in double figures with 12.9.
