SBU Men Look for Fifth Straight Win at #24 Northwest Missouri on Saturday

- The Bearcats travel to Maryville, Missouri for a match-up of the Bearcats on Saturday, January 14. The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot is in his eighth season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 149-78 (.656) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Ben McCollum is primed to begin his third season as the head coach at his alma mater. Northwest won its first four games en route to a 12-15 season. The team fell one win shy of qualifying for the MIAA tournament.

Northwest Missouri leads the all-time series against SBU 32-18.

SBU Record Watch
SBU Head Coach Jeff Guiot has become the winningest coach in SBU history with his victory over Washburn University on January 3. Coach Guiot has collected 149 wins over his eight seasons as head coach.

SBU guard Ryan Dougherty has scored 1,063 points in his career as a Bearcat, and currently ranks 10th all-time on the SBU scoring list. Dougherty is currently 2nd all time for three-point baskets made with 186, and is 4 three-pointers away from a new SBU school record. Dougherty also currently ranks 9th in assists (260) and 7th in steals (115) in the SBU record books.

Scouting the Bearcats
Northwest Missouri comes into the game against the Bearcats with a 12-2 record and 6-2 in the MIAA.
Northwest is currently atop the MIAA. The Bearcats are coming off of a 63-60 loss at Central Missouri.
On the season, NWMSU's scoring offense averages 67.9 points per game and their defense allows an MIAA leading 57.9 points per game.
