Weekly Notes

Bolivar, Mo.
- The SBU Bearcats will open play this week against Division I opponent, Oral Roberts, and then conclude the week with a match-up against Truman State. SBU will look to push their record to 3-4-1 with a pair of victories this week.
The Bearcats scored two goals against MIAA opponent, Missouri Southern, to seal their first victory on the season. Kelly Isaac and Jade Barnden lead the SBU scoring attack with one goal each.

The Coaches
Bearcat head coach Rob Podeyn enters his third season, and looks to further improve a program that last year went 6-9-3. Over his first two years, Podeyn has recorded a career mark of 13-18-6. Rob Podeyn became the eighth head coach in SBU history when he accepted the position. He joined the Bearcats after serving as director of soccer operations, assistant sports information director and head women's soccer coach at Northwood University, positions he held since 2006.

Ryan Bush begins his fourth season as women's soccer head coach at ORU, where he continues to make the Golden Eagles into a conference championship contender. The Golden Eagles finished 9-8-1 in 2010 under Bush.

Mike Cannon enters his 19th season at Truman in 2011, and is the most successful coach to lead the Bulldog program during its 27 years of existence. With a career record of 242-84-35 (.718), Cannon is the winningest coach in Truman women's soccer history and is ranked seventh in victories among all-time Division II coaches entering the 2011 season.

Scouting the Opponents
Oral Roberts is looking for their fourth home victory this season, and will turn to Maria Grados, who has six goals this season, for the offense to win the game. Whitney Brannan leads the Golden Eagles with three assists in the young season.

Truman State looks to get back on the winning track as they travel to Bolivar this weekend. Truman spreads out their offense, with six different players scoring goals for them this season.
