Quincy, Ill. - The SBU Soccer Team hung tough with Quincy University in Friday's season opener, but ultimately fell to the Hawks 2-0 in a defensive battle.

The Bearcats provided stingy defensive throughout the entire contest, holding the Hawks scoreless in the first half, but Quincy eventually broke through at the 63:00 mark, to lead the Bearcats 1-0. Quincy would add another goal to finish with a 2-0 victory. On the day, Megan Link had nine save for the Bearcats.

Next up the Bearcats will return home for their home opener against Missouri S & T on September 5, 2011. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m, so be sure to come out and support your Bearcats!
