Joplin, Mo. - The SBU Bearcats volleyball team remained perfect in conference play, defeating Missouri Southern 3-2 in today's contest. The Bearcats were once again lead by
Kylie Heim and
Britni Reed offensively, and
Alyx Glover defensively.
The Bearcats took the first, third, and fifth sets to come away with the 3-2 victory.
Kylie Heim lead the Bearcats with 16 kills, followed closely by
Britni Reed with 14 kills. As a team, the Bearcats compiled a season high .290 hitting percentage. As a team, the Bearcats had 72 digs, 6 blocks, and 61 kills.
Whitney Miller lead in the Bearcats in assists, with 43, and Glover lead SBU in digs with 25.
With the victory, SBU moves to 2-0 in MIAA play this season. The Bearcats will be back in action on Tuesday, September 20th when they travel to Warrensburg, to take on Central Missouri to try and remain undefeated in MIAA play. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
