SBU vs. Washburn Box | SBU vs. Nebraska-Omaha Box
Springfield, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist Bearcats completed day one of the MIAA Crossover Tournament in Springfield on Friday. The Bearcats took on Washburn in the first game followed by #23 Nebraska-Omaha in the final game of the day.
Josie Rose took the circle for the Bearcats, and pitched a complete game for SBU. Rose started out the game well by striking out four batters in the first two innings, before Washburn got on the scoreboard first by scoring two runs in the top of the third. SBU was able to respond when
Krysta Baderdeen hit a homerun in the bottom of the third to cut Washburn's lead to 2-1. Washburn added three more runs in the contest, and secured a 5-1 victory over SBU. Rose pitched a complete game, finishing with nine strikeouts in the contest.
In the second game of the day for SBU, the Bearcats took on #23 Nebraska-Omaha. Nebraska-Omaha defeated SBU 9-1, in 5 innings. SBU's lone run came in the bottom of the third when
Stacie Davis scored off of an error by UNO.
SBU will take on Missouri Western and Fort Hays State on Saturday, March 19 at the Cooper Sports Complex in Springfield. The games will be played at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on field 5.
