Topeka, Kan. - The SBU Baseball team was back in action today as they faced Washburn University in a double-header in Kansas. Centerfielder, Niko Saladis, was able to pick up hits in both games, extending his hit streak to eight games, the longest of any Bearcat this season.

In game one of the double-header, Washburn jumped out to a early 2-0 lead, before SBU responded with a run of their own in the top of the fourth. Taylor Trotter doubled to left center, bringing home Saladis for SBU's first run of the game. SBU would remain close in the contest before giving up four runs in the bottom of the sixth, resulting in a final score of 1-6 in favor of Washburn.

The second game of the double-header saw SBU striking first, with Saladis singling home Nigel Morton to give SBU a 1-0 lead. Washburn would tie the ballgame up with a run of their own in the third, and would ultimately push their lead to 9-1 after four innings. The defense let the Bearcats down in the fourth, with all eight runs scored by Washburn consisting of unearned runs. Washburn would add two more in the fifth, and would close out the game with an 11-1 victory.
