The game will be aired on live television through the MIAA network, and can also be found live on 99.9 KBFL, and streaming online at www.radiospringfield.com. The Coaches and the All-Time Series

SBU head coach J.C. Carter is in his third season on the Bearcat bench, where his teams have shown improvement each season. Last year's 10-18 mark was two games better than Carter's first year in Bolivar.

Patty Patton Shearer took over as head women's basketball coach in 2004, and has lead the Mavericks to winning seasons four of the last five years. Shearer is in her seventh season as head coach of the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks where she has compiled a record of 94-76.

The all-time series between the Bearcats and Mavericks is tied 4-4.

Last Time Out for the Bearcats

The Bearcat women lost a tough match-up against Fort Hays State 58-78 in Hays, Kansas on Wednesday night. The Bearcats had three women score in double figures in the loss. “I was proud the last five minutes,” head coach J.C. Carter stated about his team. “I was glad to see they kept playing hard.”

Even though it was a tough loss for the Bearcats, there were still many positives to be drawn from the game. Freshman Tanis Spani posted a career high 11 points in 29 minutes played in Wednesday's contest. “She's a competitor,” coach Carter said about Spani. “She shoots with a lot of confidence, and needs to continue to shoot with confidence for us in the future.”

Junior LaKendra Smith scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Bearcats. This marks her first double-double on the season, only the third Bearcat to accomplish this landmark this season. Junior guard Jaquavia Couch was SBU's leading scorer with 14 points while also pulling down 5 rebounds.

As a team, SBU shot 35.5% from the field and 25.9% from beyond the arc. The Bearcats were able to collect 9 steals, and dish out 13 assists.
