Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Bearcats travel to St. Joseph, Mo. today for a make up game against Northwest Mo. State University . The game can be found live on 99.9 KBFL, and streaming online at www.radiospringfield.com. A live webcast will be available as well, at www.AmericaOne.com.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach J.C. Carter is in his third season on the Bearcat bench, where his teams have shown improvement each season. Last year's 10-18 mark was two games better than Carter's first year in Bolivar.
Lynn Plett begins his fourth season as the MWSU women's basketball coach. Coach Plett came to MWSU from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois where he led the Flyers program fro the previous five season (2002-2007).
Missouri Western Leads the all-time series record 32-11.
Last Time Out for the Bearcats
The Southwest Baptist Bearcat women played a hard fought battle against #16 Washburn, but came up short in the end, 57-64. SBU fought back from an 8 point halftime deficit to take the lead late in the second half, but couldn't hold off the #16 Lady Blues.
For the second game in a row, senior guard 
Ashleigh Gallio lead the Bearcats in scoring with 13 points, and also contributed 4 steals. Senior guard 
Courtney Heady had an excellent game scoring 12 points, all in the second half, while shooting 50% from beyond the arc. “

Jacqui Zelenka contributed 9 points.
As a team, the Bearcats played an aggressive second half, holding the Lady Blues to 34.6% shooting from the field in the second half. “We played a really good second half,” coach Carter commented. “We did a good job keeping them off the boards.” The Bearcats were able to collect 11 steals and force 16 turnovers.

• Senior guard 
Ashleigh Gallio led the Bearcats in points against #16 Washburn University last Saturday (Feb 12). Gallio scored 13 points, she also grabbed two rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Courtney Heady played a total of 25 minutes the Lady Blues, enough time to score 12 points and help the Bearcats with two rebounds, one steal and two assists.
• Freshman 
Jacqui Zelenka played a total of 17 minute against the Lady Blues. Zelenka scored a total of 9 points, had one steal, and grabbed five rebounds.
• Senior forward 
Whitney Malone is one of the front-runners for the MIAA All-Defense team. The senior from Attoka Tennessee averages 8 rebounds per game (4th in MIAA) and 2.2 steals per game (4th in MIAA). Against Washburn, Malone scored 11 points, and grabbed six rebounds.
• The Bearcat women have an overall record of 8-13 (5-12 MIAA). Offensively SBU averages 64.4 points per game (9th in MIAA). Defensively SBU conceives an average of 65.9 points per game (9th in MIAA).
Scouting the Griffons
The Griffons of Missouri Western State University are currently ranked 8th in the conference, with a season record of 11-10 (8-9 MIAA). Offensively the Griffons average 67.6 points per game (4th in MIAA), defensively Mo. Western allows an average of 64.1 points per game.
Jessica Koch is the leader scorer for the Missouri Western Griffons. Koch averages 16.1 points per game. She also leads the Griffons in assists averaging 4.2 per game. Last time for the Griffons Koch score 13 points, had four assists and grabbed five rebounds.
