SBU Women's Basketball to Host Emporia State on Saturday, December 31

- The Bearcats return to action following winter break on Saturday, December 31 with a match-up against #23 Emporia State. The game will be broadcast live on 99.9 KBFL, and can be heard online at kbflfm.com. Fans can also follow live stats at http://www.sidearmstats.com/sbuniv/wbball/index.htm

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.

Jory Collins enters his second season as head women's basketball coach at Emporia State University.  Collins is a 2002 graduate of Emporia State, and led the Hornets to a 20-9 record last season.

The Hornets lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 29-12.

Scouting the Hornets
The Hornets come back after winter break ranked #23 in the nation with a 8-1 overall record, and 4-1 in conference play.

The Hornets offense is averaging 71.7 points per game, while their defense is allowing 55.3 points per game.

Rachel Hanf is the leading scorer for ESU, averaging 13.8 points per game. The Hornets also have three other players averaging double figures: Heather Robben (13.2), Kelsey Balcom (11.4), and Merissa Quick (10.8).
