The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss is in his first season as the Bearcats head coach. Prior to coaching at SBU, Voss was an assistant coach at Division I Drake University where he helped lead his team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
Maryann Mitts enters her eleventh season as head women's basketball coach at Missouri Southern State University. After 10 straight winning seasons, Maryann Mitts is the winningest coach in Missouri Southern history. In 15 years as a collegiate head coach, Mitts has amassed an impressive 13 winning seasons.
The Lions lead the all-time series against the Bearcats 38-18.
Scouting the Lions
The Lions come into Monday night's game with a 5-5 overall record, and 1-3 in conference play. MSSU is coming off of a 66-67 loss to Lincoln.
In the MIAA, MSSU has the tenth ranked scoring offense with 61.9 points per game. The Lions are not too much of a threat from three point range and are ranked tenth in the conference out of eleven teams with a 27.6 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
MSSU is also ranked last in offense rebounding with an average of 32.8 per game. The leading scorer for the Lions is Erin Rice with 13.4 point per game.
