Hays, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team played well against Fort Hays State on Saturday night in Hays, but came up short in the contest, losing 3-2. The Bearcats took the first game 25-23, dropped the second game 21-25, won the third game 27-25, and lost two heartbreaking final games 26-28 and 11-15.
The Bearcats had four ladies with double digit kills, with
Carrie Johnson leading the way with 15 kills.
Jordan Nedbalek added 14,
Kylie Heim added 12, and
Britni Reed added 11 kills for an SBU team that had 64 total kills in the contest. Reed added 18 digs to give her 16th double-double on the season.
Kristi Hager once again lead the Bearcat defense with 29 digs, with
Caitlyn Muder adding 12 digs.
Whitney Miller provided a season high 54 assists, and Johnson eight blocks on the evening.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Wednesday, November 9 when they travel to Kirksville, Missouri to take on the bulldgos of Truman State. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
