SBU Has Six Different Bearcats Score in Double Figures in 92-82 Win Over Lindenwood

Fairbanks, Alaska - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team had a thrilling victory against future MIAA opponent, Lindenwood, on Friday night, 92-82. The Bearcats continued to spread out the offense, with six different players scoring in double-figures.

The game was tight throughout the entire night, with SBU taking a 35-33 lead going into halftime. No team would lead by more than 6 points in the second half, with Lindenwood tying the game up in the final seconds of regulation at 70-70. However, the Bearcats would take complete control of the game in overtime, leading by as many as 11 and never trailing in the overtime period, to go on to a 92-82 victory. The win moves the Bearcats to 4-0 on the season.

Ryan Dougherty led the Bearcats scoring effort with 22 points on the evening off of 9 of 14 shooting from the field. Preston Guiot added 18 points with a career high 9 assists, Kyle Sloan added 15, Robson Memnon 11, and Jake Littrel gave the Bearcats 11 points off the bench.

As a team, the Bearcats shot 49.3% from the field, and 41.9% from beyond the arc. The Bearcats hit double-digit 3's for the fourth straight game, and have shot over 40% in every contest this year from beyond the arc. The Bearcats were out-rebounded by the Lions, 34-39, but shot a perfect 8-8 from the field in overtime.

The Bearcats will conclude their trip to Alaska tomorrow night when they face off against Tiffin (Ohio) at 6:00 p.m.
