Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team played an exciting match-up against the Griffons of Missouri Western, coming away with a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Kylie Heim finished out her Bearcat career in style, slamming the ball down for a kill in her final hit as a Bearcat.
After dropping the first set 25-27, the Bearcats would rally to take the next two sets 25-23, 25-23 before dropping the fourth set 15-25, but would come away with the fifth set 15-13, and a Bearcat victory. Senior's
Kylie Heim and
Caitlyn Muder both played extremely well in their final games as Bearcats, with Muder leading SBU's offense with 14 kills, followed closely by Heim's 13. Heim also contributed 8 blocks in the contest.
Britni Reed played well once again, securing her 19th double-double on the season with 10 kills and 16 digs.
Kristi Hager lead the defense for the Bearcats with 25 digs, while
Kelsey Fankhauser and
Whitney Miller both added 11. Fankhauser lead the SBU setters tonight with 28 assists, followed by Miller with 22.
The Bearcats close out their 2011 season with a victory, and a lot of promise for next year's season.
