Goodwell, Okla. - The SBU Bearcats volleyball team had a great showing at the Oklahoma Panhandle State Tournament on Friday night, defeating University of Texas-Permian Basin 3-1, and then sealing another victory against Oklahoma Panhandle State 3-0.
The Bearcats started the night off with a 3-1 victory over University of Texas-Permian Basin. The Bearcats had four ladies with double digit kills, and
Britni Reed recorded another double-double on the season. Reed and
Kylie Heim lead the Bearcats with 14 kills a piece, followed by
Jordan Nedbalek with a season high 11 kills, and
Jenna Isaacs with 10 kills.
Kristi Hager once again lead the team in digs, with 26, and Reed contributed 10 digs.
Kelsey Fankhauser and
Whitney Miller both had great days setting the ball, picking up 23 and 22 assists respectively.
In the second game of the day, the Bearcats were dominate against Oklahoma Panhandle State, defeating the Aggies 3-0. Reed once again lead the offensive attack for SBU, collecting 10 kills, followed closely by Heim with 9. As a team, the Bearcats had an attack percentage of .364. Hager lead the Bearcats with 15 digs, and Miller lead SBU with 20 assists.
With the two victories, SBU moves to 11-16 on the season. The Bearcats will be back in action on Tuesday, November 1 when they host Emporia State with the game set to start at 7:00 p.m.
