BOLIVAR, Mo. – Tomas Brock nearly sent tonight's contest into overtime with a “fall away” three pointer, which hit the back of the rim as time expired. The Bearcats lost to #5 Fort Hays, 74-71, in Bolivar.

Stephen Cotton led SBU with 16 points on 7 of 12 from the field. Cotton also logged 6 rebounds. Brock added 13 points and dished out 5 assists. SBU's Kurt Koenig added 10 points to complete the Bearcat trio in double figures. Nick James was 3 of 4 from long range.

The Bearcats' press forced 16 turnovers tonight – which was largely responsible for SBU's comeback after facing a 15-point deficit early in the 2nd half.

As a team, the Bearcats shot 37.3% from the field, 21.7% from the arc, and 81.5% from the strip.

Next up for SBU is a Wednesday night trip to Nebraska Omaha on January 12.
