THE COACHES AND ALL-TIME SERIES
SBU head coach Jeff Guiot continues in his seventh season on the Bearcat bench, where he has won three MIAA regular season titles, and compiled a 134-58 (.698) record. Coach Guiot has led the 'Cats to an MIAA Tournament appearance each season, and three NCAA Tournament appearnaces. Last season, SBU won 20 games for the third consecutive season, marking the first time in the history of the program the feat has been accomplished.

Ben McCollum is in his second season as the Northwest Missouri State men's Basketball head coach. McCollum was the second youngest active head coach in the Division II during the 2009-10 season. Coach McCollum is the 20th coach in the history of the Bearcats' men's basketball and holds a 12-15 total record for the 2009-10 season.
Northwest Missouri State Bearcats lead the series against the SBU Bearcats 31-17.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BEARCATS

Omaha, Neb. - The SBU Bearcats played a well-fought road battle at Nebraska Omaha, but came up short falling 84-90 to the Mavericks.
Ryan Dougherty continued his successful season, leading all SBU players with 25 points on ten of twenty shooting from the field. Nick James and Kurt Koenig both contributed 15 points, while Stephen Cotten scored 12.
“There were times in the game where our kids played hard and did the right things,” head coach Jeff Guiot stated after the game, “but we got to keep working.”
As a team, the Bearcats shot 48% from the field, 32% from the arc, and 75% from the stripe.

QUICK HITS
•Junior guard Ryan Dougherty led the Bearcats with 25 points against Nebraska- Omaha last Wednesday (Jan. 12). HE also had two rebounds, two assists and a steal against the Mavericks. Dougherty averages 13.6 points per game and has scored 191 points this season.
• Senior forward Kurt Koenig scored 16 points against the Mavericks. He averages 10.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Tomas Brock is the second-leading scorer for the Bearcats with an average of 12.6 points per game. Brock averages 2.2 steals per game (3rd in MIAA).

• The Bearcats have three of the top ten best three-point shooters in the MIAA. Ranked number two in the MIAA is Nick James (.471), right behind James is Zach Kliene (.458), Brock holds the fourth position (.444).
• Kleine, along with James continue to make an impact for the Bearcats. The freshman duo average a combined 13.8 points per game.

• SBU is 7-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference. The Bearcats are ninth in the MIAA stadings. The Bearcats hold the second position in the conference in scoring, averaging 83.3 points per game.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
The Bearcats of Northwest Mo. State University are 4-9 overall (2-7 MIAA).NWMSU is 10th in the MIAA standings right behind our SBU Bearcats.

Senior Elijah Allen is the lead scorer for the Northwest Mo. State Bearcats with an average of 14.9 points (13th in the MIAA) per game. Allen holds position number four in the MIAA in rebounds, averaging 7.8 per game
