9/25/2010 4:57:25 PM

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats looked poised for a comeback after dropping the first two sets to the green Bearcats of Northwest Missouri, winning game three, but fell in four sets, 17-25, 18-25, 25-22, 20-25. Senior Joanna Granzow was SBU's leading scorer, with nine kills, two service aces, and four total blocks.

Northwest took control fairly early in the first game, and put the game out of reach with a seven-point run that took the score from a 16-9 Northwest lead, to 22-9. After Northwest took an 11-6 lead in game three and looked poised for a sweep, but SBU battled back, taking the next seven points to gain a 13-11 advantage. The green Bearcats took a timeout at that point, but SBU still took four of the next six to hold a 17-13 lead, then went on to a 25-22 win.

Granzow led SBU with nine kills in the match, while five Bearcats recorded double-digit digs. Marcy Greenwade led 19 digs, the most in a four-game match for SBU. Brianna Wallace earned a double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs.
