WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The start of conference play for the SBU volleyball team was a tough one, as the Bearcats fell in three sets at the #8 Central Missouri Jennies.
The Bearcats (5-4) dropped the first set 25-20, before falling 25-11 and 25-18 in the last two sets. SBU could not get anything going consistent offensively through match, hitting a season low .052 on the night.
Joanna Granzow had the top individual attack percentage during the match at .333 while
Britni Reed led with five kills.
Marcy Greenwade had 15 digs while
Brianna Wallace led with 16 assists.
UCM (7-2) had three players with double digit kills led by Abby Gruenbacher with 13 and hit .286 for the match.
SBU returns home on Saturday afternoon for their home opener against Nebraska-Omaha, starting at 4 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center. Fans can receive free admission to the volleyball match with their SBU football ticket stub, from the gridiron matchup earlier in the day against William Jewell.
