LAWTON, Okla. -- SBU men's tennis faced a tough weekend of nationally-ranked competition in four matches this weekend at Cameron University. After rolling over Colorado State-Pueblo, the #31 Bearcats took on a trio of ranked opponents but came up just short, falling to #29 Midwestern State, #33 East Central and the host school, #20 Cameron University.

Senior Marton Zsiga continued his recent success, winning all four of his #1 singles matches in straight sets. Zsiga and partner Jorge Margiotta split their #1 doubles matches, winning both on Friday. Margiotta also went 3-1 at #3 singles, with his wins coming in straight sets. The Bearcats were a few points short of a different outcome in all three of their losses -- Margiotta, Jorge Palacios and Tyler Welch fell in three sets in the loss to Midwestern State, while Palacios also fell in three sets in the 5-4 loss to Cameron. Newcomers Domingos Carissimo and Brandon Finerty were edged in three sets in the setback to East Central.

The Bearcats (2-6) host Ferris State this Thursday at 1 p.m., in their first home match from the Bryant Tennis Center.
