KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The SBU men's and women's tennis teams had Rockhurst seeing double, winning both dual matches by the same 6-3 score. Faiga Schmidt, Domingos Carissimo, Jorge Palacios and Tyler Welch all won both their singles and doubles matches.

SBU (4-3) scored women's singles wins in five of the six matches, including straight set victories by Johanna Olsson, Schmidt, Jenna Hendrickson, Sarah Sentlinger and Misti Janisch. Schmidt and Jolee Cook controlled their match at #1 doubles and won 8-2.

The #31 Bearcat men (5-8) got straight set singles wins from Carissimo at #2, Jorge Margiotta at #3, and Welch at #6. SBU took two of three in doubles action, as #1 Marton Zsiga and Carissimo and #3 Welch and Palacios coming out victorious. Rockhurst entered the men's match at #32 in the ITA rankings.

On their current trip, the Bearcat men are 2-2 while the women are 2-1 this week. The action continues tomorrow (Friday) in Kansas City, Kansas, with SBU visiting Johnson County Community College starting at 1 p.m.
